last night i went to the rudolfinum to see performances of shostakovich's moscow-cheryomushki, rachmaninov's piano concerto no. 4, and tchaikovsky's winter dreams by the czech radio symphony orchestra. here's a picture of the auditorium. for the past two weeks, i've been walking around hearing the sounds of various classical instruments spilling out of windows preparing for the autumn music festival. the sound of a random oboe as you're walking along can definitely lift one's spirits when...oh, i don't know...one's album release is delayed two weeks because a machine at the factory broke down. i think kenny rogers may have had a hand in it...

sam is dead. i keep wondering if there was something more i could have done for him. i assumed he knew what he was doing there in our bathtub, but maybe i was wrong. if i had given him some bugs to eat, would that have solved anything? what if i had put him outside? he could have been eaten or smushed even sooner than his eventual demise in the tub. it might have been more exciting for him though. if this, if that, i suppose. millions of things die every day without a care from anyone. sam was a spider. c'est la vie.

after much deliberation, i've decided that when we get to 50,000 hits, i will throw pizza parties at several undisclosed locations. the only problem is, if it takes as long to get to 50 as it did to 10, it will be around september 2009. so really, the more time you spending clicking on things around here, the quicker you get some free pizza. yes, this is good old-fashioned elementary school bribery. and i'm ok with that.

thanks all to you faithful clickers out there, we have now surpassed the 10,000 hit mark for this site. i took a picture of the screen that tells me how many hits we've received. here it is. i guess it could be anything really, but it's the best i could do. thanks everyone.

we've moved again. this time to prague. the golden city. in the czech republic. in europe. on earth. and so on. since we arrived i haven't had time for much of anything but logistics. so my apologies for the lack of posts. but here's a photo. we've been sleeping on the floor for the past week. but no worries. it's enough just to be here. by the way, here's a photo of the enormous spider in our bathtub. we've named him sam.

so far it's pretty amazing. and cheap. i strongly recommend it. anyway, i hope you are all doing well in your respective locations.

i miss you all.

with love, dustin
